Conception Seminary College hosts annual Family Weekend
Conception Seminary College hosted their annual fall Family Weekend September 30 – October 1 at their campus in Conception, Mo. Over 300 gathered for the weekend’s activities that included Evening Prayer with the monastic community on Saturday, an outdoor barbecue and games, and entertainment provided by seminarian musicians.
Family Weekend is an annual event that allows the families of seminarians to share in fellowship and visit Conception Abbey and Conception Seminary College. Families traveled from all over the Midwest representing the fifteen dioceses that Conception Seminary College serves. Families gather to share with one another the joys and challenges of having a son considering a priestly vocation.
St. John Paul II said that the family, through their role of education and evangelization, “becomes the primary and most excellent seedbed of vocations to a life of consecration to the kingdom of God.” Family Weekend at Conception Seminary College is a celebration and an opportunity to give thanks for this role of the family in the lives of the seminarians at CSC.
The weekend concluded with a Eucharistic celebration in the Abbey Basilica.
