Conception Seminary College renews accreditation

Conception, Mo. — Conception Seminary College received a 10-year renewal of accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission on June 3, 2024. This continues the high standard of accreditation that the seminary has always maintained.

HLC is an institutional accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit degree-granting colleges and universities. The process is lengthy and thorough and requires evaluations, benchmarks, and in-person visits.

“Our accreditors recognize that we have excellent faculty and staff who are dedicated to the formation and well-being of our students,” said Rev. Victor Schinstock, president-rector of Conception Seminary College. “They work hard every day because they believe in this work.”

Representatives of the Higher Learning Commission visited the Conception-Abbey-run college seminary in March 2024 after a lengthy process of preparation from the faculty and staff.

“Preparing for accreditation renewal over the last few years demanded extra effort from everyone,” Schinstock said. “I am grateful to our faculty, staff, and seminarians for making Conception Seminary College a great seminary and making that visible to our accreditors.”
