With the Eyes of Faith – Lenten Reflection by Ziggy Gross

In St Faustina’s Diary we are reminded of the beautiful hidden reality underneath every single moment of our lives.  She exclaims:

O life so dull and monotonous, how many treasures you contain!  When I look at you with the eyes of faith…the dullness and monotony disappear. The grace which is given to me in this hour will not be repeated in the next.  It may be given me again, but it will not be the same grace.”

With the eyes of faith; this is the key to seeking the work of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.  Often we can simply forget to pray for the gift of Faith!  How often we offer prayers of petition, thanksgiving, and praise for many things except the very gift that allows us to offer our prayers in the first place—our baptism into the Faith.  Let’s remember this today and everyday as we approach the Cross and Resurrection of Christ.

St. Faustina, pray for us!
